Leshaun Jenkins is a 2000 graduate East Carolina University. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History as well as a Bachelor Arts degree in Political Science with a double minor in African Political Systems and French. He completed his Masters degree in School of Administration from NC State University. In 2020 he was selected into the Haiti Teacher Fellows program through UNC-Chapel Hill and Duke University. He completed this fellows program in June of 2021. He also received a Certification in Global Education from Harvard University.
He is currently in his 23nd year in educational field; all of which have been spent in Edgecombe County. He currently serves as the Principal at W.A. Pattillo Middle School. He is a former 4x Teacher of the Year; 18 x Coach of the Year including State and National Coach of the Year in 2014. He was inducted into the Southwest Edgecombe High School Hall of Fame in 2022. He is an active member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. where he serves at the local, state, regional, and national level.
